HYDROCORTISONE - RECTAL CREAM, OINTMENT

(hi-dro-KOR-tih-sown) 

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Anusert HC-1, Anusol-HC, Proctocort, <a href="http://proctocream-hc.6210.hydrocortisone-rectal-cream-ointment.branddrugsonline.info/">PROCTOCREAM-HC</a>, Proctosol HC 

USES:  This medication is used to treat swelling, inflammation, or itching of conditions such as hemorrhoids.  

HOW TO USE:  To apply cream or ointment, wash and dry the rectal area fisrt.  Then gently massage a small aomunt of the medication into the affected area.  Do not use in larger amounts, more often, or lonegr than directed.  

SIDE EFFECTS:  This medication may cause burning, stinging, itching or redness when first applied.  <br/><br/>This should disappear in a couple of days as your body adjusts to the medication.   If these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor.  <br/><br/>Notify your doctor if redness, swelling or irritation does not imporve. <br/><br/>Notify doctor of: rectal bleeidng or pain.  <br/>Very unlikely to occur but report promptly the following side effects: unusaul weakness, weight loss, nausea/vomiting, fainting, dizziness, vision changes. <br/><br/>If you notice other effects not litsed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.  <br/><br/>

PRECAUTIONS:  Tell your doctor your mediacl history, especially of: eye problems, sores or infection of the area being treated, any allergies.  Though really unlikely, it is posisble this medication will be absorbed into your bloodstream.  <br/>This may have undesirable consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. <br/>This is especially true for babies and for those who have used this for an extended period if they also have serious medical problems such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries.  This precaution applies for up to one year after sotpping use of this drug.  <br/>Consult your doctor or phamracist for more details.  <br/><br/>This medication shuold be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your dotcor.  It is not knwon if this medication is excreted into breast milk.  <br/>Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. 

DRUG INTERACTIONS:  Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take. <br/>Do not start or stop any medicine without dcotor or pharmacist approval. <br/><br/>

OVERDOSE:  If overdose is suspected, conatct your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.   This medicine may be harmful if swalloewd.  

NOTES:  Inform all your doctors you use, or have used, this medication.  

MISSED DOSE:  If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as remembered; do not apply if it is almsot time for the next dose.  Instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.  Do not "double-up" the dose to ctach up. <br/><br/>

STORAGE:  Store at room temperautre away from moisture and sunlight. Do not store in the bathroom.]]></description>
